Kerri Quinn is a New York City based writer, director and producer. Tragic themes and humor are present in her stories for adults, which feature female protagonists over the age of forty who are resilient, unconventional, funny, raw, sexy, messy, make mistakes (lots of them), take risks (more of these) and don’t take no for an answer. Her stories almost always include a character who has died and a character grieving this death. In the vein of the Greek tragedies, all of her characters die off stage.
Her stories for children feature female characters who are brave, adventurous and mighty. These stories are tender, a little zany and empower girls to embrace their extraordinary selves.
Kerri has also worked as a freelance creative consultant and scriptwriter for Q Media, an outdoor documentary film company.
She taught creative writing at Northern Arizona University and as well after-school creative writing workshops for young girls. She holds a PhD from The University of Southern Mississippi.
A native New Yorker, she has tried to live in other places—but she always finds her way back to the City—inspired by the cast of characters and stories unfolding around her.
